Do veterans qualify for VA dental benefits?

Eligibility for VA dental care depends on several factors, including disability rating, former prisoner-of-war status, service-connected dental conditions, and other qualifying categories. If you don't qualify for comprehensive VA dental benefits, private dental insurance may be an option.

What dental insurance options are available for Riverside County veterans?

Depending on your situation, you may qualify for VA dental care, the VA Dental Insurance Program (VADIP), dental benefits through a Medicare Advantage plan, or private dental insurance such as Delta Dental or Physicians Mutual. We can help you compare your options.

Does Veterans Legacy Center charge for consultations?

No. We offer free, no-obligation consultations to help veterans and their families understand their options. Our goal is to educate you, answer your questions, and help you make informed decisions.

Are there VA outpatient clinics in Riverside County?

Yes. Riverside County is served by several VA outpatient clinics that provide primary care, mental health services, laboratory services, and select specialty care. Many veterans use a nearby outpatient clinic for routine appointments while visiting the VA Loma Linda Healthcare System for more specialized treatment.

Can I use both the VA and Medicare?

Yes. Many Riverside County veterans use both VA healthcare and Medicare. Medicare can provide coverage for care received outside the VA system, giving you additional flexibility when choosing doctors, hospitals, and specialists. During a free Medicare Benefits Review, we can help you understand how these benefits work together.

Can Riverside County veterans be buried at Riverside National Cemetery?

Many veterans and eligible family members qualify for burial at Riverside National Cemetery, one of the nation's largest national cemeteries. Eligibility depends on military service and discharge status. We can help explain eligibility requirements and assist families with planning ahead.

Does the VA pay for funeral or cremation expenses?

The VA may provide burial benefits for eligible veterans, including a gravesite in a national cemetery, a government headstone or marker, a burial flag, and, in some cases, burial allowances. However, these benefits generally do not cover all funeral or cremation expenses, which is why many families choose to plan ahead.

Do I need Medicare Part B if I already use the VA?

Many veterans choose to enroll in Medicare Part B even if they primarily receive care through the VA. Medicare gives you access to non-VA providers and helps ensure you have coverage if you need care outside the VA system. Every situation is different, so we recommend reviewing your options before making a decision.

Can Veterans Legacy Center help me compare Medicare plans?

Yes. We provide no-cost Medicare guidance for eligible veterans and their families throughout Riverside County. We'll explain your options, answer your questions, and help you compare plans based on your healthcare needs.
